Appliance Electricity Cost Calculator
Estimate appliance energy use and cost at your own electricity tariff.
Build your appliance list
Use your latest bill. Enter actual average operating watts and hours, especially for appliances that cycle on and off.
Enter a positive tariff and valid appliance values (0–24 hours/day; whole quantities of at least 1).
How it works
Divide each appliance wattage by 1,000 to convert watts to kilowatts, then multiply by daily operating hours and quantity. Add the results to get daily kilowatt-hours (kWh). Multiply by your tariff in naira per kWh for daily energy cost, and by 30 for a 30-day month.
For example, two 60W fans used for eight hours consume 0.96kWh daily. At an illustrative ₦100/kWh, that costs ₦96 daily or ₦2,880 over 30 days. This is an example price, not a current tariff. Add lights, televisions and other loads as separate rows.
Actual consumption can differ from maximum label wattage. Refrigerators and air conditioners cycle, while standby power and inverter losses can add usage. Use measured average power where available. This is an energy estimate, not a prepaid-token quotation: taxes, debt deductions and other charges are not added automatically.
